Terms of Use

By signing in to RecallCoach you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not sign in or use the service.

RecallCoach helps you practise active recall. You paste source material, write what you remember, and an AI model returns feedback comparing the two. Saved sessions are kept in your account so you can return to them.

The service is provided as-is and may change without notice. We may add, remove, or alter features, including usage quotas.

You are responsible for the security of the email address you use to sign in and for any activity under your account. Sign in is via magic-link email or Google OAuth — there is no password to manage.

You agree not to:

• Submit content you do not have the right to use, including copyrighted material whose use exceeds fair use / fair dealing for personal study.
• Submit content that is illegal, threatening, harassing, or otherwise harmful.
• Attempt to extract another user's data, defeat the row-level security policies, or otherwise misuse the database / API.
• Automate requests in a way that circumvents per-user usage limits or imposes disproportionate cost on the AI provider.
• Use the service to build a competing product by scraping AI outputs at scale.

You retain all rights to the source material and recall text you submit. You grant RecallCoach a limited license to transmit your content to OpenAI for analysis and to store the resulting feedback in your account, solely so the service can function.

Feedback is generated by a large language model. It can be wrong, incomplete, or misleading. Do not rely on it for medical, legal, financial, or safety-critical decisions. Verify anything important against primary sources.

The service enforces a per-user monthly cap on AI analyses and a short-window burst limit. These limits exist to preserve service availability and to bound AI provider cost. We may change the limits at any time.

You can stop using the service at any time. We may suspend or close your account if you violate these terms or if continued access would expose us to liability or unbounded cost.

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR THAT AI FEEDBACK WILL BE ACCURATE.

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, RECALLCOACH AND ITS OPERATOR WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATED TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS (USD $100) OR THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US FOR THE SERVICE IN THE PRECEDING TWELVE MONTHS, WHICHEVER IS GREATER.

We may update these terms. We will update the “Last updated” date and, for material changes, surface a notice in the app or by email. Continued use after a change constitutes acceptance.
